Introduction
Hello and Welcome, here you'll find the John Smith Legacy Resource Pack and my own modified version JSC 'JimStoneCraft Edition' both packs are for Vanilla Minecraft, JimStoneCraft Edition is a branch of the standard pack and it's the pack I personally play with.
Long ago on a cold night while searching YouTube I started watching JimPlaysGames and pacbilly play this game called Minecraft, after a few weeks I found out about dark room mob spawners to get all the good stuff, the first videos I watched were Monkeyfarm's YouTube tutorials, I then watched way too many Lets Plays and got hooked on the distinct look of the John Smith texture pack.
After about a year or so, JohnSmith (the original author) decided to no longer update the pack, the pack was too good to just let it die so the community took over and John Smith Legacy was born, I joined the project in the beginning but slowly as all the others went onto the sickly sweet modded game and the millions of textures needed for that, I decided to specialised in the Vanilla game, took over the hosting and control of that release.
Well I don't like adverts, banners, popup and other tricks to get you to click on stuff, these sort of things will never be on this site, you don't have to donate to download these resource packs and you'll never have to pay anything to use them, the donate (Pay with Card) button is there only if you wish to show your support for this long ongoing project, thanks in advance!
Minecraft 1.12.0 - World of Color UpdateThese Resource Packs are only compatible with the Minecraft 1.12 releases, they have been tested with OptiFine, Sildurs Vibrant Shaders and the litemod VoxelMap for 1.12.0 by MamiyaOtaru., these are not required but do add some nice features like Connected Textures (CTM), Better Skies, Random Mobs, Custom Colours, Shaders, Waypoints, Death location and lots more... note that Shaders require a powerful computer to run at a good frame rate. They've not been tested with any other game mod, sorry I cannot help or support other untested mods. |

Minecraft 1.8.9 - Bountiful UpdateThese Resource Packs are only compatible with Minecraft 1.8.0 - 1.8.9 These Resource Packs has been tested with MCPatcher 5.0.3 and OptiFine 1.8.9 HD U H8, they are not required but do add some nice features like Connected Textures (CTM), Better Skies, Random Mobs and Custom Colours. OptiFine is recommended for the Resource Pack extras, MCPatcher can be used but has not been updated in some time so some of the pack features may no longer work with MCPatcher. They've not been tested with any other game mod, sorry I cannot help or support other untested mods. |

Older Milestone Releases
Please note that packs older than 1.7.10 are no longer supported and are for older releases of Minecraft, they can be useful with older CTM maps that require an older release of the John Smith Legcay packs.
Some of these Resource Packs do not require MCPatcher but you will get the best out of them with it, they only have limited support for Optifine.

What's the difference between John Smith Legacy & John Smith Legacy JimStoneCraft Edition?
John Smith Legacy is the more traditional John Smith Style, JimStoneCraft Edition (JSC), uses the smooth cobblestone, ores and lots of other personal tweaks to virtually all the textures.
It's the pack I personally play with and some people asked if I would post it so I did.

John Smith Alternatives
There are 921 alternate textures for the John Smith pack, here are the alternative textures as sheets and sliced individual textures.
Due to the work involved I cannot support these files and you'll have to rename, move and replace the texture you want yourself.
Added 815 textures for Glear Glass and Stained Glass, including all the CTM.

Usage Guidelines
Things you can do
- Edit, use and share these textures in your own vanilla or modded resource pack as long credit is clearly given to JimStoneCraft, JohnSmith and JohnSmith Technician's Remix (JSTR).
- You're encouraged to use this pack in any screenshots or videos you like and are free to monetize your videos as long as you put a link to this page in the video description.
- You're free to modify this resource pack for your own personal use and you're allowed to give your own modified pack to close friends (for a private server) but you may not redistribute your modified pack on a public forum or website.
- Make this pack your official private server resource pack, your members must obtain the resource packs from this page or you can host the pack yourself on a public or private server for Multiplayer gaming but only in the unmodified zip form.
- Adventure map makers can freely modify the resource pack to match their map and can provide a modified copy to go along with their map as long as you put a link back to this site with your map.
Things you can't do
- You're not allowed to use these textures in a customizer or in any other games other than Minecraft.
- You may never post a link to these packs behind adf.ly or any other for-profit service, a lot of work is put into these packs and I wouldn't want others to make money from it.
These rules can be changed at any time.
Authorized Download Locations
You'll only find the latest release of the John Smith Legacy Resource Pack and the John Smith Legacy JimStoneCraft Edition Resource Pack on this page, if you have downloaded it from somewhere else then it's probably out of date, may have bugs that have already been fixed or may have been modified, please report it on the contact page with a link to the site in question and download the resource pack from this page.
